FAQ
What if I can't afford the package I want?
These are my standard charges for various shoots, because everyone wants to know what they are going to be spending before they send that contact form requesting more information. However, I believe everyone should have access to high-quality photo images, and if needed, when you fill out the request on the website, let me know what your personal budget is for the package you want, and we will work together to ensure that you are able to have access to what you want in a price range that works for you and your family. In addition, if you would like more services than listed here, we can work out an appropriate price for more time, outfits, locations, or images.
Do you only shoot in Kansas City?
Not at all! I shoot primarily out of the Kansas City area, but also consider Omaha, Nebraska as one of my home bases because my family lives there. I will charge mileage for any shoot that is 50 miles outside of either of those places, but I love to travel and would love to meet you wherever you may be.
Can I extend the session on the day of?
As long as I have childcare and no other scheduled shoots, that's fine with me!
What kind of gear do you use?
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II and my favorite lens is my 24-70mm 2.8. For editing, I work primarily in Lightroom, but use Photoshop and Affinity Photo as well.
Do I have to order prints through you?
Not at all! You're more than welcome to of course - this can be done through the gallery - but you'll also be able to download full resolution files to print at your preferred location.
What time do you take photos?
Obviously event photography will take place at whatever time you have your event scheduled for, so that's a non-issue. However, for families, portraits, and other scheduled photo sessions, I suggest scheduling our session approximately an hour and a half before sunset. This allows us to still have plenty of light for your photos, but the light is softer and won't cast harsh shadows on unflattering parts of your face. I am also totally game for early morning portraits, starting right after sunrise. Especially when we can do this in a rural area, they turn out looking so ethereal and otherworldly!
